Cannes Yachting Festival and MIPCOM held in Cannes in 2020

Long uncertain until now, the Cannes Yachting Festival boat show (from September 8 to 13 at the Vieux Port and Port Canto) and the MIPCOM 2020 from October 12 to 15 at the Palais des Festivals will take place.

These two major events for the new season on the Riviera organized by Reed Midem were confirmed at the beginning of July.

The Cannes Yachting Festival from September 8 to 13, 2020 in Cannes

While the Monaco Yacht Show has thrown in the towel, the Yachting Festival, the first autumn show in the international nautical calendar, will be held as every year in September in the scintillating bay of Cannes, in the luxurious world and elegant old port and Port Canto.

The Yachting Festival is the major event of the season for the global nautical industry, with 50% international visitors and 60% exhibitors from 40 different countries, out of the 530 that made up the Show.

Faithful to its reputation as the leading afloat show in Europe where to discover the latest boats from the biggest shipyards in the world, the Cannes Yachting Festival welcomes many international exhibitors.

The Yachting Festival has reaffirmed its status as the leading international show for multihulls. By devoting more space to them on land and by reserving them a special place in the heart of the Old Port, the Festival was able to accommodate 45 catamarans – a world record – measuring from 42 to 77 feet. The event also gave pride of place to sailing boats, numbering 120 this year, or nearly 20% of the total fleet presented.

More than 600 boats are expected, afloat as well as on land, representing 542 exhibitors. The organizer announces 219 new releases, including 122 world premieres. Once again this year, the Concours d’Elegance (reserved for motor boats and day-boats under 12 m) will take place on Saturday 14 September. While this show remains one of exuberance and large units, it is also possible to discover smaller boats, on land as well as afloat.

The exhibitors, including almost all of the major players in the French and international nautical industry, registered to date, will be distributed in the two ports of Cannes on the model successfully implemented last year, namely the boats motor in the Old Port and sailboats in the Espace Voile located at Port Canto

MIPCOM from October 12 to 15, 2020 in Cannes

For its part, MIPCOM will be held from October 12 to 15 at the Palais des Festivals and will be preceded by the MIP junior on October 10 and 11 at the JW Marriott and accompanied by Cannes Series season 03 from October 9 to 14.

MIPCOM is the most anticipated market of the year for the world of audiovisual content and for the key players in distribution on all platforms.

Each fall, 13,500 participants, 4,700 companies including 2,000+ exhibiting companies, 4,700 buyers including 1,700 VOD buyers and digital platforms from more than 110 countries as well as the main television and film executives, the stars who drive our screens – all converge at MIPCOM in Cannes to create a new world of content.

The event is being maintained but in a different format for its 36th edition: a “physical” gathering in Cannes and an online digital hybrid gathering.
