TRANSPORT TO NICE CARNIVAL
This year, the Carnaval de Nice ® takes place from 17 February to 3 March in Nice.
WHAT IS IT?
The Carnival of Nice was mentioned for the first time in 1294, and since then it has been constantly transformed, becoming a major cultural and festive event in France. Currently, it spans a period of two weeks (and three weekends) in February, offering the opportunity to rediscover the emblematic sites of the city, such as the Promenade des Anglais and Place Masséna. Each edition also brings its own set of novelties, enriching the experience of the participants.
This year the theme will be oriented around the "King of Pop Culture" in reference to the great figures of manga, video games and also series!
Another recent announcement from Nice City Hall concerns the participation of the famous Youtube player “Cyprien” Iov in the design of a float that will capture the world of pop culture. In addition to creating video content, Cyprien, originally from Nice, also excels in the art of drawing and writing comics.
Her passion for Japanese anime, manga and Franco-Belgian comics is reflected in her work. This artistic diversity fits perfectly with the chosen theme and arouses a great expectation on the part of the public for the creative freedom granted to it.
The programme of the Carnival in Nice is distinguished by four highlights:
– The inaugural parade, the Corso Carnavalesque,
– The illuminated Carnival Corsos,
– Another session of the Corso Carnavalesque,
– And finally, the spectacular Battles of Flowers.
The King will be cremated, as is the tradition of Nice, after the last corso, so on Saturday 2 March, starting at 10:45 pm.
